Finite Element Analysis of Mechanical Rubber Goods

Prior to approximately 1987 very little finite element analysis was used in the mechanical goods rubber industry. Today that is much different.

There are probably three programs that US manufacturers use to characterize rubber bushings:

• Abaqus
• Marc
• Ansys

I could not begin to answer all the potential questions concerning these programs so right away I suggest calling the experts.
